Sailing the Pacific

Telling the Time

WALT tell the time o'clock and half past. What did you do well was making good ideas to put on the google slide. What was tricky getting the learn create share. what i can do to better next time getting the blog post finished at the right time.

My Speech

 WALT present a persuasive speech.

What i did well was making a plan and writing to be able to get my speech in between one fifty and
What i need to work on for next time learn my speech off by heart with out cue cards.
What was i feeling overall about your speech experience i was so scared because i thought that i was not going to get top five.

Would you like your teeth to fall out because you drink fizzy drinks? I sure wouldn't so that’s why I am going to tell you why I think fizzy drinks should be banned. I think fizzy should be banned because two fifths of kids under five in North land and Auckland have tooth decay. Fizzy if full of sugar. If you drink too much, you’ll get rotten teeth and you only have two sets of teeth. It costs a lot of money to go to the dentist. Did you know that one can of coke has ten teaspoons of sugar!!! Do you like eating apples, because if your teeth are rotten your teeth will fall out and then that means that you can not eat any more!!! Sugary drinks so bad for your teeth! It is so cheap that kids buy it instead of water and milk but I think kids should only drink water and milk. I think fizzy should be banned because diabetes and child obesity is a major problem in NZ. Heart disease is the number one disease in NZ that takes lives. Heart disease is caused by too much sugar and fat. Fizzy can cause other health issues too. When my dad has a red bull he gets gout that means that his foot starts to hurt and he can not walk on his foot. I think fizzy should be banned because they have a lot of plastic rubbish that ends up in our oceans that will kill the fish and will end the circle of life. Fish will not be able to clean the bottom of the ocean and the environment will die. There is a lot of plastic in fizzy packaging. Plastic is really bad for the environment. Did you know that by the year 2050, scientists think that there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish around the world. Fizzy makes your teeth rot, it’s bad for your health and causes diseases like heart disease and diabetes and it is mostly packaged in plastic. These are the reasons why I think fizzy should be banned.

WOW that's amazing- is that the kraken is a humongous octopus that swims around in the deep blue sea and will attack and sink a passing ship.
Yuck, gross-what I found yuck and gross about the kraken was that its head is so big and slimy.
I don't believe it-that the kraken has only one eye on its head and it is huge.

kahui tipua
wow that's amazing-that the kahui tipua is that it lives in Aotearoa, there is a story about the kahui tipua-a tribe of fierce giants.
Yuck, gross-that the kahui tipua has three tongues and they could stride from a mountaintop to another and swallow whole streams.
I don't believe it-that they hide in caves and will attack anyone who walks past.

Covid-19 Writing

WALT explain what the rules are at Level two and what we think about it.

What the rules are in level two  is wearing a mark if you were in town  because so if you were talking to someone at the counter you are not spitting when you talk or for   coughing into your elbow because you are coaching into your marks. Hand sanitiser because if you cough into your hand and you do not wash or sanitiser your hands everything that you touch will have your gems on it.How did I feel  bored. Always remember that we all need to be one metre apart and stay in your bubble. Always make sure you wash your hands before and after walking your dog, baking and don’t play on the public playgrounds. It is not completely isolated here, so do not worry about your family's food and other things that you would buy from a supermarket. You need to be very careful about who you touch and who you hug. You can only touch your family like your mum, dad, bothers, sisters and other family members. At most schools the assembly won’t be the whole school together but it will be in a hangout. People always need to wear a mask when you are out and about or when you just have a little walk with your family or by yourself.  All of the people that got a test were from Auckland. My experience about covid 19 nineteen has been interesting but still a little bit frightening. what i liked about look down was my dog.

WALT find out what students at one school do to celebrate the Māori New Year. WALT to use the main ideas to summarise the text.
In many parts of Aotearoa, people celebrate the Māori New Year when Matariki (a group of stars also known as the Pleiades) appears

In many parts of Aotearoa, people
celebrate the Māori New Year when Matariki (a group of stars also known as the Pleiades) appears. However, if you live in Taranaki, Matariki is hard to see because it’s very low in the eastern sky.

what I found interesting was at the last page there was a photo of kids holding a time capsule and in it their was what they want t to be when they are an adult.
